About Northwestern Air

Northwestern Air is a Canadian airline based in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, that provides scheduled and charter flight services. Founded in 1965 as a leasing company, it expanded to offer scheduled passenger flights in 1984 to connect remote northern communities. In late 2024, the airline announced plans to terminate its scheduled operations to focus exclusively on contract charters.
