Nationwide Airlines was a South African carrier based in Lanseria that operated scheduled domestic and international services. Originally founded in 1991 as a charter operator, it rebranded in 1995 to provide regular commercial flights. The airline built a loyal customer base but struggled after a major engine failure incident in 2007 led to the grounding of its fleet. Facing insurmountable financial difficulties and rising fuel costs, Nationwide Airlines permanently ceased operations in 2008.
